BREUN, Albert G. of Leesburg, VA formerly of Dumont, NJ passed away of natural causes at age 71 on Sunday, December 25, 2011. Preceded in death by Jeanette, his wife of 45 years, Al was the beloved father of Kenneth Breun, Denise Werntz, and Christopher Breun, and grandfather of Courtney, Meghan, Eric, Kyle, Shannon, Tyler, Shelby, and Gavin. Devoted to family, reverent towards God, and fervent in his love for country, Al never did anything halfway. Whether it was coaching his sons throughout their years in Little League Baseball, cheering on the New York Yankees (after the Dodgers moved to Los Angeles, of course), volunteering at the grass roots door-to-door level in politics, participating for many years as an active member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1345, donating his time in various roles to help make the St. Mary's Carnival an annual success, or marching on Washington numerous times in the Right To Life movement, Al was "all in" and he could be counted upon to be there whenever he was needed. He never wavered in his belief or his teaching that there is a right way to live this life, and that we should always seek out that way as we choose our path in this world. A retired Voice and Data Technician from MCI, a retired Insurance Agent from Knights of Columbus Insurance, he was also a Past Grand Knight of St. John's Council 1345, a former Eucharistic Minister at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Dumont NJ, and a proud veteran of the United States Navy. There are many who will miss him. Family and friends are invited to visit at Riewerts Memorial Home, 187 S. Washington Avenue, Bergenfield, NJ, Wednesday, Dec 28th from 2 to 4 and 6:30 to 9pm, and Thursday Dec 29th from 10am with a funeral service at 11am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association. (donations.diabetes.org).
