Anne D. Hipshman, age 98, of Bergenfield, NJ, loving mother and devoted grandmother, passed into God's hands from natural causes on January 4, 2014. She was a one-of-a-kind example of faith, hope and love. Anne Hipshman was born April 8, 1915, in Hoboken, NJ, to John and Carmela Marsicovete. She had nine brothers and sisters. After graduating high school in Hoboken, she continued on to what she referred to as the "College of Life." Raised from Italian immigrant parents, Ann developed and embodied an unmatched sense of family and was greatly loved by all who knew her. Grandma Anne or "Grams" was always there to help when needed, share a sentimental story, offer comfort, support and encouragement, make you laugh, sing you a Sinatra song, or give you a big kiss. Her family was her life and her view on life was "It'll Dry." No matter how bad anything gets – it'll get better. She is survived by her son Philip Hipshman of Bergenfield, NJ, daughter-in-law Diane Hipshman (Thomforde); her two loving granddaughters Kaitlyn Hipshman and Jessany Hipshman; & her brother Vincent Marsi of Totowa, NJ. Visiting at Riewerts Memorial Home, 187 So. Washington Ave., Bergenfield on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral service at the funeral home on Wednesday at 10 AM. Interment at Madonna Cemetery Fort Lee, NJ. Memorial donations may be made in her name to the Gallen Adult Day Care, 10 Link Dr., Rockleigh, NJ 07647 or Alzheimer's Assoc., 400 Morris Ave., Suite 251, Denville, NJ 087834.
