Anne E. Powers

Anne E. Powers (nee Sherman), 86, died on Monday, September 17, 2007. Born in New York City, she was most recently a resident of Englewood, where she lived with her sister, Eileen M. Jamieson. She was the widow of William J. Powers, Jr., a USMC veteran from Bronx, NY. Her remains will join those of her husband at L.I. National Cemetery, Farmingdale, L.I. She lived and worked in NYC until her retirement as front desk cashier at the Lexington Hotel, after which she moved to Bergenfield to live with her sister. She was a very devoted aunt to her nephews and niece, Walter J. Jamieson, Katherine A. Maietta, Michael P. Jamieson and Peter J. Jamieson, 9 great nieces and great nephews and 6 great great nephews and nieces. She was an avid reader and a very loving and charitable lady. A Memorial service will be private. Arrangements were by Riewerts Memorial Home, Bergenfield.
