Anthony Giambona Sr

Giambona Antonino (Anthony) Sr., 87, of Bergenfield, NJ passed away on July 4, 2012. Born in Capaci, Sicily, he immigrated to New York in 1948. He moved with his wife and children to Bergenfield, NJ in 1961 and resided there until his passing. He was the proud owner of A&A Produce Market in Harlem, NY for over 40 years. Survived by his wife Mary (nee Stabile) Giambona, daughter Ann Sole and husband Guy, son Anthony Giambona and wife Mary and daughter Frances Talarico and husband Anthony (Tal). He leaves behind a sister Giovanina Amenta in Sicily, and Frank Giambona of Howell, NJ. He is also survived by eight grandchildren: Bruno DeMayo and wife Dina; Michael DeMayo; Thérése, Meghan and Juliet Giambona ; Gina Savastano & husband Frank, Anthony and Christopher Talarico, two great grandchildren, Brianna and Samantha DeMayo and countless devoted nieces and nephews. He lived for his family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Dr. Gary Schwarts, care of Sarcoma Research Fund; 300 E. 66th St, 10th Fl, NY, NY 10065 in memory of Anthony Giambona, Sr. Visiting at Riewerts Memorial Home, 187 So. Washington Ave. Bergenfield on Friday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. All will gather at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel R.C. Church, 10 County Road, Tenafly on Saturday for the Funeral Mass at 10AM. Interment Maryrest Cemetery, Mahwah.
