Arlene Lois Casper of Bergenfield, NJ. (fondly known as Nanie by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren) passed away on May 31, 2023, at the age of 86. Arlene married the love of her life John D. Casper Sr. on December 1, 1956 and remained devoted to her husband even after his passing on June 21, 1979, John was 43. Arlene enjoyed working with children at The Learning Place in Dumont as an aide. Later she rode her bicycle to the Bergenfield Pathmark each day and worked as a cashier.
Arlene and her husband contributed to St. John's parish by volunteering for Pre Cana, Senior CYO, the Annual Christmas Bazaar and the Palm Sunday Spaghetti Dinner for many years. Arlene also volunteered feeding the homeless in Hackensack with Bob Armbruster and assisted at the St. Cecilia Church overnight family shelter in Englewood. Devoted mother of John D. Casper Jr., (and his former wife Margaret A. (Meg) Casper), Edward J. Casper, (and his wife Deborah)and Joyce A. Stoltenborg, (and her husband Jimmy). Loving grandmother of Sally L. Binder (Dan), John D. Casper III (Andrea) and Thomas E. Casper (Jessica), Christian Casper, Chloe Casper, Shawna L Faro (Kevin), John J Stoltenborg (Lauren) Loving great-grandmother of Megan, Danny, Kiera, Logan, Caydén, Ryan, Nolan, Johnny, Liam and Emma. Arlene (Nanie) was known to take as many as five grandchildren on a walk to the park. She would push a carriage and have the other grandchildren hold each others hands. Little did she know ...she was creating BEAUTIFUL memories. Arlene is also survived by her sister Jean Kieran and her loyal caregiver Joan. The family would like to thank Antoniette of Senior Change Solutions and the compassionate staff at Milford Manor.

Visiting on Friday 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Riewerts Memorial Home, 187 So. Washington Ave. Bergenfield. All will gather at the funeral home on Saturday at 10 AM for the Funeral Mass at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church, Bergenfield at 11 AM. Cremation will be private.
