It is with profound sadness that the family of Arthur J Miller (Artie) announce his peaceful passing on October 20 at the age of 92. He will be lovingly remembered by his daughter, Lisa Ryan (Toots) and husband Edward, his grandsons Andrew and Nicholas Ryan. He was pre-deceased by his longtime companion, Florence Sienko, son Arthur “Christopher” Miller, his father and mother James and Harriet Miller and brothers, James and Walter Miller and sister, Helen Riordan.
Arthur was born in Brooklyn, New York and grew up in Teaneck, New Jersey. He joined the Navy when he was 19 years old and served 4 years and finished with honorable discharge. He always said he was blessed to have been able to see the world because of being in the Navy, which otherwise would have never happened for “a poor boy from Teaneck”.
Anybody that knew him knew he was a lover of music, all types. He was also a diehard Dodgers fan from the time he was a young boy, which he skipped almost a whole school year to go to their games, and followed them until the very end and loved John Wayne.
He retired from ShopRite after putting in 30 years, and then went on to do side jobs and enjoy his life.
He moved up to New York State to be closer to his daughter, son-in-law and grandsons in 2018 and then moved in with her and her family in 2020.
He was the best dad, grandpa, and friend. We will miss him forever.
