Carmella Salvatoriello

Our beloved Mother Carmella Salvatoriello is 95, was conceived in Italy and born in the USA on July 12,1929 from Italian immigrants Antonio Matarazzo and Eleana De Cicco. She is the oldest of their five (5) offspring namely Emma Basile (surviving sister), Theresa Palermo, Mary Ferrara, and Cosimo Matarazzo.

Carmella has 2 children Armand & Sandra. Seven (7) Grandchildren: Joseph, Kimberly, Gene, Amanda, Otto, John, and Jodie and 12 great grandchildren.

Carmella was a dedicated housewife and mother. She worked with Sandoz Pharmaceuticals as sample distributor when her children were older. Retired with her husband Armando Salvatoriello. Together, they enjoyed their retirement until Armando passed away on October 14, 1998. 

Carmella was a good cook and her house was always immaculately clean which she took pride of it. She is always busy doing something and loves working and tending to outside garden. She also loved to go to Casino and enjoys playing with different slots machine. She had a very sharp mind always calculating up to the penny, she was good in remembering dates and birthdays and names especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. She can name them all and their birthdays. She had a sharp eye and meticulous in every details. She enjoyed socializing and everyone’s company, but she was also very private. 

She loves to read health magazines and lectures us after of what she read. She enjoyed her house and never wanted to leave it. For her, her house was her haven of peace and comfort. She specifically said she doesn’t want to be in a Nursing Home. 

She always complained of her aches and pain but her pains miraculously disappear when she goes to the casino. Her mind was always calculating how much is she winning or losing at the casino. Her only handicapped was her hearing impairment. She lived a good life.
