Catherine Aversa, 93, of Vero Beach, FL, formerly of Upper Saddle River, New Jersey, passed away peacefully February 20, 2017 at her home in Oak Harbor. Survived by Kathleen McCarthy, Brian James McCarthy, Anthony (Peggy) Aversa, Edward Aversa, Linda (John) Colontrelle and Dennis (Christina) Aversa; nine grandchildren; twelve great-grandchldren; sister-in-laws Maureen Flanagan and Mary Magistro; and former daughter-in-law Cynthia Trevino-Aversa. She was preceded in death by her first husband Michael Joseph McCarthy, son Michael, her second husband John Anthony Aversa, sister Anne Veronica Thayer, brother Patrick Flanagan and grandson Michael Trevino-Aversa. Memorial contributions may be made to VNA/Hospice Foundation, 1110 35th Lane, Vero Beach, FL 32960. Celebration of her life will take place on Wednesday, February 22nd at Holy Cross Church in Vero Beach at 2:30 P.M. A mass at The Church of the Presentation in Upper Saddle River, N. J. on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at 11:00 AM and interred at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus, NJ.
