Charles A. Lippmann, Sr., 88, on April 21, 2008 of Cresskill formerly of Bergenfield. Born in Manhattan, NY, he was a Surveyor for Slattery Associates, New York, NY retiring in 1982. An Army veteran of WW II, he was a member, Past Commander and Chaplain of Bergenfield Memorial Post 6467 VFW, a parishioner of St. John the Evangelist Church, Bergenfield and a member of the Tenafly Rifle and Pistol Club. Beloved husband of the late Marion C. Lippmann. Devoted father of Dianne M. (and her husband Hans) Schussler and Charles A. (and his wife Mary) Lippmann, Jr. Dear brother of the late Ethel and Raymond Lippmann. Loving grandfather of Virginia (husband Dan) Riemann, Christine Monaghan, Marianne (husband Donald) Kaszner, Michelle (husband John) Calvello, Adam, Alex and the late Justin A. Schussler and great grandfather of Ryan, Marc, Melissa, Tommy, Aidan, Madison, Autumn and the late Austin. The funeral will leave Riewerts Memorial Home, 187 So. Washington Ave. Bergenfield on Wednesday at 9AM for the Funeral Liturgy at Church of the Ascension, New Milford at 9:30AM. Interment Geo. Washington Memorial Park, Paramus. The family will receive friends Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Valley Hospice, 15 Essex Rd., Paramus, NJ 07652.
