Craig Nelson

Craig M. Nelson, 61 of Dumont (formerly of Bergenfield), passed away on April 2, 2023. Beloved husband and best friend of Christine A. Nelson (nee Kennedy). Devoted son-in-law of Kathryn Kennedy & the late Thomas J. Kennedy. Cherished nephew of George & Ann Keever & the late Jack Keever. Predeceased by Lila and Richard Nelson. Loving brother of Donna, Laura, & Richard Nelson. Adored brother-in-law of Donna, Kathryn (Ira Miller), Neil (Janice), & Tom Kennedy. Devoted cousin to Jack & caring Uncle to Hannah, Michael, & Olivia. Loving Poppa to Stanley & Sugar.

Prior to his disability/illness, he worked at the Main Lock Shop since 1991 & considered his coworkers family. He was a lifetime member of the Bergenfield Elks. Though Craig could be a man of few words, he was kind and had a gigantic heart. One of his favorite lines was “I gotta go”, and so he did with a little piece of all our hearts. Rest in peace, buddy.

Visitation, Wednesday April 5, 2023 from 4-8pm at Riewerts Memorial Home at 187 S. Washington Ave. in Bergenfield. Funeral service will be held on Thursday April 6, 2023 at 11am at St. John’s the Evangelist Church at 29 N Washington Ave. in Bergenfield. Repast will follow at Tommy Fox’s from 12-2pm.
