David E. Thomson, 59, of Bergenfield died on July 9, 2011. Born in Bronx, NY, he was a Bridge Painter for Union Local #806, New York, NY. A Marine Corp. veteran of the Vietnam War, he was a member of the 1st Battalion 9th Marines, nicknamed "The Walking Dead" that sustained the highest casualty rate in Marine Corps history. Predeceased by his father David Thomson he is survived by his wife Stacey Thomson, his children Carissa, David, Daniel and Francis Thomson, his mother Louise, his sisters Lois Frinia and Jane Garris and brothers Tom and Ken Thomson. Also survived by grandchildren David, Paige and Racheal Thomson. There was a funeral service at Riewerts Memorial Home, Bergenfield on Thursday, July 14th. Cremation was private.
