Doris T. Nashmy

Nashmy, Doris T. (nee Bazaz) Beloved Mother- Grandmother- Aunt, age 81 of Dumont, NJ passed away peacefully at her daughter's residence in Erie, Pa on Monday, March 24, 2008. Born on July 2, 1926 in North Bergen, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Frieda and Roscoe Bazaz. Doris worked in the family business, The Bergen Valet, for over 60 years. She was active in the Ladies Aid Society at the Assyrian Apostolic Church in Paramus and enjoyed many years of ceramics, bowling and crafting. Doris had many "Bingo Friends" and enjoyed her trips to Atlantic City. She went to Erie, Pa on Friday, March 21 to visit and enjoy time with her daughter, son-in-law, and two grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased in death by her husband John, two brothers, Albert and George Bazaz and sister-in-law, Ruth Bazaz. Those left to cherish Doris' memory are her loving daughter, Janine Petersen, son-in-law David and two grandchildren, Scott and Katie of Erie, Pa, grandaughter Allison Fullerton and her husband, Kirk of Delran, NJ, loving nephew Richard Nashmy and his wife Alexandra, Gladys and John Allison, Jane and Bruce Bazaz, Janet and George Bazaz, her Godson, George Bazaz, Jr., John Nashmy, Jr. and several other nieces, nephews, cousins and granchildren. Friends may visit with the family on Friday, March 28 at Riewerts Memorial Home, 187 S. Washington Ave., Bergenfield from 2-4 and 7-9p.m. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 29 at 10 a.m. in the Assyrian Apostolic Church of Virgin Mary on Paramus Rd, Paramus. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Doris' name may be made to the John Kanzius Cancer Research Foundation, 915 State Street, Erie, PA 16507.
