Dorothy A. Fesen

Dorothy, A. Fesen, 96 of New Milford passed away on August 31, 2016. Beloved wife of the late John Fesen (1984). She was born on June 14, 1920 in The Bronx NY to Otto & Margaret Denzau. She was raised in The Bronx where she met her life-long friend Ruthie DiCicco. She met the love of her life Johnny on a NYC subway train and they were married in 1942. Loving mother of John Christopher Fesen and his wife Patricia and Robert Fesen and his wife Cassandra. Dear sister of the late Elizabeth. Cherished grandmother of Christopher and wife Mary and Brian and great grandmother to Jack, Isabella and Siena. She leaves behind many cousins, nieces and nephews. Dorothy was proud that she was a member of "the greatest generation" having lived through the Great Depression and World War II. She was a devoted homemaker until her children were adults and then worked in administrative positions at several corporations, notably Prentice-Hall in Englewood Cliffs. She enjoyed reading and traveling with her sister and volunteering at various charitable organizations. She was a founding member and elder of New Milford Presbyterian Church where she made many contributions to the congregation for over 65 years. Visiting Monday September 5th from 4 to 8 PM at the Riewerts Memorial Home, 187 So. Washington Ave. Bergenfield. All will gather on Tuesday September 6 for the funeral service at New Milford Presbyterian Church, New Milford at 10 AM. Interment will follow at the St. Joseph Cemetery in Hackensack. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations should be made to the New Milford Presbyterian Church 737 River Rd. New Milford NJ 07646.
