Dorothy Teresa Schaffner (nee Rauch), 94, of Allendale formerly of Bergenfield passed away on February 11, 2014.Born in New York, NY she was a retired Secretary for Contant, Contant and Meehan of Hackensack. A parishioner of St. John's Church, she was a Past Vice President of Court of Notre Dame #688 Catholic Daughters of America and St. John's Rosary Society. Devoted wife of the late Joseph J. Schaffner. Beloved mother of Ellen Themstrup and her husband Bendt, Robert and his companion Fran, Timothy and his wife Marsha, Donald and his wife Ann Marie and Kenneth and his wife Michelle Schaffner. Dear sister of Grace Rauch. Loving grandmother of Karen, Kristian, Jesse, Jacqueline, Valerie, Daniel, Deborah, Kristin, Lauryn, Briana-Lee, Callie, Joseph, Briana and Stephen and great grandmother of Maya, Chloe, Benjamin, Carly, Malky, Nechami and Shevy. Visiting Thursday from 6-8 PM at Riewerts Memorial Home, 187 So. Washington Ave. Bergenfield. All will gather at the funeral home on Friday at 9 AM for the Funeral Mass at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church, Bergenfield at 10 AM. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery in Hackensack. In lieu of flowers, please send a mass card in her memory.
