Douglas M. Van Valen

Douglas Michael David Van Valen on October 2, 2007 of New Milford. Born in Teaneck, he was a Worker for the Oradell Department of Public Works. A graduate of Bergenfield High School, Class of 1997, he was a Volunteer Fireman for the New Milford, Oradell and Bergenfield Fire Departments, a Certified EMT and in CPR, a former member of Boy Scout Troop #180 and served two tours of duty in the US Navy having served on the USS John C. Stennis. Beloved fiancAC. of Christina Cuomo. Cherished son of Kenneth D. and the late Roberta Van Valen and stepson of Susan Van Valen. Dear brother of Victoria I. and Kenneth J. Van Valen. Loving son in law of Patrick and Donna T. Cuomo. Dear step brother of Stephanie and Shannon Quinn and Michael Cuomo. Funeral service at Riewerts Memorial Home, 187 So. Washington Ave., Bergenfield on Saturday at 10AM. Interment George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus. The family will receive friends on Thursday 7-9 and Friday 2-4 & 7-9 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the New Milford, Oradell or Bergenfield Fire Department or the American Cancer Society.
