Edward "Eddie" Florez, 77, of Westwood, formerly of Paramus died on Friday, December 28, 2012 of complications from Parkinson's disease. Eddie was born in Jersey City, he married Carol Ann for twenty years and had five children. He was a driver, a mortician and then was self-employed as a buyer and seller of precious metals for 30 years. Eddie had a great compassion and love for animals and history. He had a great imagination and was an animated storyteller with a good sense of humor. He loved to take his girls on a Sunday drive to tour historic sites while creating fabulous tales and songs. He enjoyed traveling, was passionate about driving, an avid swimmer at the Jersey shore, he was excited about his pilot's license and of being a Sunday school teacher. He was predeceased by his cherished wife Ruth "Rivy". He was a proud and loving father to Yvonne, Steven his wife Robin, Ronald his wife Renee', Darlene her husband Lance, and Carolyn and her husband Raul. He had two step sons, seven grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren. Survived by his loving sister Rita and husband Fred and their two children, predeceased by his loving parents and his sister Carmina and her husband Bob. A private cremation was arranged through Riewerts Memorial Home, Bergenfield.
