Edward J. Kneisler, Jr

Edward J. Kneisler, Jr., 81, on May 26, 2009 of Bergenfield. Born in Englewood, he was a Produce Clerk for Grand Union, Tenafly retiring in 1992. An Army Veteran of WW II, he was a member and former Lieutenant (1969) and Captain (1970) of Alert Fire Co. #1, the Box 54 Rehab. Unit of Teaneck, the NJ and NY Fireman's Assoc. receiving the "Fireman of the Year Award" in 1974 for helping rescue two people from a working fire, the former Bergenfield Volunteer Firemen's Ambulance Corps Inc., Bergenfield Memorial Post #6467 VFW, the American Legion Post, Cresskill, and the South Presbyterian Church. Beloved husband of the late Gertrude H. Kneisler (1990). Devoted father of Lynmarie and her husband James C. McGoldrick, Edward J. II and his wife Cynthia K. and James P Kneisler. Dear brother of Tillie Shaw, Charlotte Roemer and Frederick Kneisler and brother in law of Eleanor Hubner. Loving grandfather of Edward, Eric and Alex Kneisler, David and Andrew McGoldrick and James and Brittany Kneisler. He was lovingly known as Grandpa "Pops" to many people in town. Funeral service at Riewerts Memorial Home, 187 So. Washington Ave., Bergenfield on Saturday at 9:30AM. Interment George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus. . Visiting Friday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alert Fire Co. #1, 61 W. Church St., Bergenfield, NJ 07621.
