Edward L. Spielman

Edward L. Spielman, 74, on November 14, 2011 of Dumont. Born in New York, NY, he was a Financial Controller for Federated Stores (Sterns) in Paramus for 24 yrs. after working for Bendix Corp. for 10 yrs. A graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University, he was a former councilman for the Borough of Dumont, a member of Toastmasters and a chess master of the Ridgewood Chess Club. Devoted husband of Joan B. Spielman (nee Merritt). Beloved father of Kathleen Ann Sylvester and Edward Michael Spielman. Loving grandfather of James D. Sylvester, Michael A, Sylvester, Scott T. Sylvester and Kyle Spielman. Cherished son of the late Estelle Holmes Lyons and Edward Lyons. Dear brother of Anthony Spielman and the late Raymond Lyons. All will gather at Riewerts Memorial Home, 187 So. Washington Ave. Bergenfield on Thursday at 9AM for the Funeral Mass at St. Therese R.C. Church, Cresskill at 10AM. Interment Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Tenafly. Visiting Wednesday 4-8PM. In lieu of flowers, donations to the NYU Comprehensive Epilepsy Center, 223 E. 34th St., New York, NY 10016 would be appreciated.
