Eli A. Totengco

Eli Aliermo Totengco, a beloved resident of Bacolod City, Philippines and Paramus, NJ, passed away peacefully surrounded by all his family members on December 29, 2024, just shy of his 75th birthday.

Eli was the cherished father of Ellen Fajardo and spouse Allan, Kristin Billena and spouse Joseph, Eli Joseph Totengco, Timothy Totengco and Kenneth Totengco. He was the ever-supportive and fun grandfather to Ella, Kaylee, Ava, Sebastian, Andi, Harper and Logan Elias. He was very happy to spend time with them. His loyalty to family extends to his sisters Maria Luisa and spouse Pablo and Jocelyn and spouse Jojo, as well as all his nieces and nephews who have so many fond memories of him. Eli was predeceased by his parents, brothers Jose, Jesus and Nilo and sister Maria Sol. 

Eli was very well loved by his many groups of friends - NOHS Class 1967, Cebu Institute of Technology Civil Engineering Class 1972 and Butlak Adlaw group, among others. He was a Civil Engineer by profession and spent years working as an engineer in Sagay, Negros Occidental and Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and also later on as a medical staff at Alexian Brothers Hospital in Arlington Heights, Illinois. He spent his retirement years back in his hometown of Bacolod City, Philippines with family and friends.

Eli was the life of the party and always brought good cheer and laughter to everyone he met. He lived and looked younger than his years and was always the groovy dad and friend. His family and friends will always remember his vibrant personality and zest for life. Eli will be forever loved and missed.

Visiting Friday January 3rd 5-9 PM at Riewerts Memorial Home, 187 So. Washington Ave. Bergenfield. All will gather at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church, 29 No. Washington Ave Bergenfield on Saturday January 4th at 10:15 AM for the funeral mass at 10:30 AM.
