Elizabeth "Betty" Mary (Nee Connolly) Butler-Romanelli. Born in New York City, New York on May 13, 1944. Departed on Saturday, April 7, 2012 and resided in Park Ridge, NJ. Elizabeth (Betty) Mary Butler-Romanelli (Nee Connolly) of Park Ridge, NJ formerly of Bergenfield, NJ passed away on April 7, 2012, at the age of 67. Beloved wife of the late Andrew Romanelli. Devoted mother to Elizabeth Butler, Cathrin Ann Lesko and her husband Joseph, Catherine Marie Schlatter and her husband Ed, Diann Butler and Allen Butler and his wife Corrine. Cherished step-mother to Andrew and Eleanor Romanelli, Scott and Angela Romanelli and Traci Romanelli. Loving grandmother of Eddie, Cameron and Emily Schlatter; Kayla Porcelli; Mary Ellen and Carly Lesko; Morgan, Erica, Kyle and Riley Butler; Samantha and Rocco Romanneli; Shiloh Hudgens; Greg Scarazzini and great-grandmother to Mya. Dear sister of James and Julie Connolly, Les and Marie Connolly and sister-in -Law to Robin and Matt Cernilglia. Cherished daughter to the late James and Elizabeth Connolly and adoring aunt and great aunt to 18 nieces and nephews. Betty will most be remembered for her endless devotion to her family and friends and her compassionate and generous heart. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her. Throughout her life she was an avid photographer and anyone who knew her was the subject of her work. She also loved the Yankees and spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. In addition, throughout her life she gave back to the community and had served as a Girl Scout Leader, Little League Team mother, Coach for girls' softball, Administrator for the CYO Girl's Basketball Program and a member of the St. John's Parrish Council. Today, she continued to give time to feeding the homeless and local charities. Her commitment and work ethic to everything she did carried forward into to her job at EisnerAmper, LLC where she was employed as an office manager for over 20 years. Friends and family will gather for visitation at Riewerts Memorial Home at 187 South Washington Avenue in Bergenfield on Thursday, April 12, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9. All will meet at the funeral home on Friday, April 13, 2012 at 9AM for the funeral mass at St. John the Evangelist Church, l29 North Washington Ave., Bergenfield NJ at 10AM. Followed by internment at Hackensack Cemetery in Hackensack, NJ. In lieu of flowers, her family requests that donations be made to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center or St Jude Children's Hospital.
