Fe Tolentino [Pening], 87, of Bergenfield, passed away on March 25, 2013. She was born in the Philippines and came to the United States in 1981. She worked at Bradley's in Hackensack before retiring in 1987. During the war, Fe joined the Underground Movement, Filipino American Irregular Troop conducting intelligence surveillance under Gen. Straughn until the liberation of the Philippines, 1945. She was awarded due recognition by the American Government as a Deserving Guerilla of World War II. She worked with the Philippine Government, Commission on Elections, managed and operated a family-owned Theatre business before going to Vietnam. She was the Chief Documentation Officer of the U.S Army/Air Force, Nhatrang Depot, until the Fall of Saigon in 1971. Beloved wife of late Jonas Tolentino. Loving and devoted mother of Erly Cortez, Pepe Tolentino, John Tolentino and Frayda Ascrate; 9 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, various in-laws, nieces, nephews and other relatives. Family will receive relatives and friends on Friday 2-4 and 7-9 at Riewerts Memorial Home, 187 S. Washington Ave., Bergenfield, NJ, 201-384-0700.
