Bargisen, George Edward, Jr., 61, on June 17, 2007 of Demarest, passed peacefully surrounded by his family after his battle with cancer. Beloved husband of 37 years to Virginia E. Bargisen (nee Robinson). Devoted father of Suzanne Virginia Bargisen, George Edward Bargisen, III (and his wife Jennifer) and Scott Marius Bargisen (and his wife Johanna). Loving son of Rose Bargisen and son in law of Mildred Robinson. Dear brother of Janet Domerski and husband Tom, Nancy Grus and husband Ron and sister in law Carolyn Robinson. Loving grandfather of Scottie, Eric and Jenna Bargisen. Loving uncle to his four nieces. George grew up in Dumont and spent his married life in Demarest NJ. He was a founding member, four time Captain and a life member of the Demarest Volunteer Ambulance Corp, a member of the Old Tappan Rod and Gun Club, a trustee of the Demarest Nature Center and a lifelong fisherman, hunter and gardener extraordinaire. He was an Industrial Arts and Technology Teacher for Northern Valley Demarest and Old Tappan High Schools from 1968 until his retirement in 2004. The family will receive friends Tuesday and Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9PM. The funeral will leave Riewerts Memorial Home, 187 So. Washington Ave. Bergenfield on Thursday at 9:30AM for the Funeral Liturgy at St. Cecilia's R.C. Church, Englewood at 10AM. Interment George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus. Those who may wish to make memorial gifts can do so at The American Cancer Society Relay for Life Northern Valley or Rochelle Park in lieu of flowers.
