Grace Patricia Benson

Grace Patricia Benson, nee Lamb, 96, of Bergenfield, New Jersey went to Heaven on January 13th, 2022 at Villa Maria Claire Hospice. Grace was born in Greenwich Village, Manhattan, NY on October 16th, 1925 to Luke Patrick Lamb and Catharine Cecilia Lamb. The Lamb family moved to the Bronx where Grace graduated from St. Barnabas Catholic High School. From there Grace started a career that spanned some 50 years as a switchboard operator and office assistant. For many years she worked at Klopman Mills, a division of Burlington Industries. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 53 years, David Benson, and her sisters Catherine Murphy (nee Lamb) and Eleanor Lamb. Grace was a devoted wife, sister, aunt, great-aunt, and great-grand aunt who enjoyed close and loving relationships with all of her family. Family members also included nieces and nephews Kathy (Bob) Banholzer, Bob (Sara) Murphy, Stephen Murphy, and Patricia (Daryl) Murphy, seven great-nieces and great-nephews, and eight great-grand nieces and great-grand nephews. Her family will cherish all of the wonderful memories we have of her. The family wants to give special thanks to great niece Jill Kurek for taking care of Grace and David in their final years.
The family will receive friends and family on Wednesday, January 19th, 4-7pm at Riewerts Memorial Home in Bergenfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday January 20th at 10am at St. John the Evangelist Church in Bergenfield.
