Brockschmidt, Harry G., 76, of River Edge, NJ formerly of Bergenfield, NJ died peacefully surrounded by his family on October 12, 2005. Beloved husband of Charlotte Joan (nee Johann) for 52 years, devoted father of Joan of Valley Cottage, NY, Harry (Mary) of Bogota, Steven of New Milford and Daniel of River Edge, adored grandfather of Jessica and Katherine. Pre-deceased by parents Gustav and Henrietta (nee Junge) and brother Fred, sister-in-law Alice Johann and God child Peter Johann. Survived by brothers and sisters-in-law Ermine Brockschmidt, James vonFrank (Winifred dec. 10/05/05), George Edward (Amy) Johann, Kenneth Johann, Charles (Barbara) Johann, cousins Helga Durow and Wilma Frank and many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews and great grands. Born in Brooklyn in 1929, Harry served as a corporal in the Army during the Korean War 1951-1953 and moved to Bergenfield, NJ in 1960 with his growing family. He was active in the community serving Boy Scout Troop 139 as Assistant Scout Master and Charter Representative for 19 years and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was also an active member of the Bergenfield High School Booster Club, coached PAL baseball, was an avid golfer and bowler, an enthusiastic follower of Drum and Bugle Corps marching bands and a dedicated New York Yankee fan. Having worked in the textile industry since 1946 he was currently employed by Baltic Linen Co. in Valley Stream, L.I. as a senior member of their administration. Funeral service at Riewerts Memorial Home Inc. 187 So. Washington Ave. Bergenfield, NJ on Thursday at 8 PM. Entombment Laurel Grove Cemetery, Totowa, NJ leaving from the funeral home on Friday at 9:30 AM.. The family will receive friends on Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 PM..
