Helen M. Rowland

Helen M Rowland (née Rhodes) 11/11/28 - 3/1/20 Of Bergenfield formally of Englewood, Dumont and Old Tappan. First of seven children born to Elsie (née Fisher) and Roland Robert Rhodes. Predeceased by parents, brothers Richard, Donald, John, Charles and Robert Rhodes, husband Frank A Rowland senior and daughter Marie H Rowland Cramer. She is survived by son Frank A Rowland Jr. , Daughter Annie M Rowland Della Mast, 6 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Helen was a graduate of Dwight Morrow High School of Englewood and Bergen Pines School of Nursing. She loved being a nurse. She helped others for over 40 years. She was a long time member of Trinity Reformed Church of Old Tappan. Also she was a former member of the church consistory and was an Elder in the church. She was also very active in the church choir and loved to sing. Known to many as “The Butterfly Lady”. She loved entertaining, visiting friends and relatives , reading, crossword puzzles, gardening, and baking her famous pound cake. Memorial services will be held at Trinity Reformed Church of Old Tappan on Saturday, March 14, 2020 at 1:00PM. In lieu of flowers, plant a butterfly garden or make a donation to charity in Helen's name.
