Irma Popolizio

POPOLIZIO, Irma (nee:Alvarez), 93, passed away peacefully at the Oakland Care Center in Oakland on Sunday, August 26, 2012. Born in New York City Irma came to Bergenfield, NJ in 1958. She worked as a Crossing Guard and Lunch Aide in Bergenfield for 40 years. Beloved wife of the late Larry Popolizio. She is survived by her children Richard and his wife Lesley, Bruce and Larry Jr. Grandchildren Larry, Sara and Britney and a great grandchild Sophie. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law Cathy, a brother Abraham and a sister Ester. She was predeceased by her brother George and sister Ruth. Memorial visitation will be held at Riewerts Memorial Home, 187 So. Washington Ave., Bergenfield on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM with a service at 8:30 PM. Interment will be private. Donations may be made to NJ Commission for the Blind and Visually Impaired, 153 Halsey St., 6th Floor, PO Box 47017, Newark, NJ 07101-47017.
