James A. Christofileas

James A. Christofileas, 87, on January 5, 2012 of Leisure Village West formerly of Bergenfield. He was born on Hudson St. in New York, NY. He was the best husband, father and grandfather who cherished his family above all. A kind and generous friend to all. Love you Dad. He was an Engineer for New York Telephone Co., New York, NY. A Navy veteran of WWII he served in the Pacific Theater on the attack cargo ship AKA 23 Aurelia as a hard hat diver. A member of the New York Telephone Pioneers, he loved to dance and treasure hunt. Devoted husband of the late Caroline Christofileas. Beloved father of Roseann and her husband Peter Coppola and Nancy and her husband Andrew Martinez. Loving grandfather of Laura Caroline Coppola , Andrew James and Christian Lee Martinez. Dear brother of the late Rose, Alexander and John Christofileas. Dear brother in law of Jane Christofileas. All will gather at Riewerts Memorial Home, 187 So. Washington Ave. Bergenfield on Monday at 10AM for the Funeral Mass at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church, Bergenfield at 11AM. Interment George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus. Visiting Sunday 2-6PM.
