WACKER, Jeanne L. “Jeanne”, age 83, formerly of Dumont, NJ passed away on Tuesday February 22, 2022. She was a graduate of Ridgefield Park High School class of 1956. Jeanne was a longtime dedicated parishioner of Old North Reformed Church in Dumont. A pew in front, 3 rows or so back on the left side of the church, was always understood to be hers on Sunday mornings. Outside of church, when she wasn’t planning a vacation with family and friends in Cape Cod, MA, her favorite place on earth, she spent her summer days as a loyal member of the Dumont Swim Club. Jeanne’s youthful exuberance on gatherings with her childhood and high school friends “The Shadows” was an ever-endearing site to see. Through her employment years, she worked multiple jobs, day and night, selflessly spending what little remaining time she had supporting her children, and caring for her elderly Mother, all as a widow. Jeanne was the cog of the family wheel, hosting busy holiday gatherings, and offering up her infamous homemade apple pie. She loved reading books and painting with watercolors. But most of all, she loved and adored spending time with her cats, her companions, for which she had many through the years. Jeanne was truly an accomplished, sweet, and beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, through her amazing life. Jeanne is preceded in death by her parents, Doris and Adrian Lemarie, her husband, William Wacker, and daughter Debbie Dillon. And survived by her sons Douglas (spouse Pamela), Steven (spouse Tatiana), and Keith Wacker (spouse Geraldine), and brother Robert Lemarie. A cherished grandmother of Kelly, Keith Jr., Ciara, Noelle, Daenerys, and Emmerich Wacker, and Michael, Sean, and Timothy Dillon. And great grandmother of Jade, Jordyn, and Jackson Dillon. The family will receive friends at Riewerts Memorial Home, 187 South Washington Ave., Bergenfield on Monday February 28th between 3-7 PM. Funeral Service at Old North Reformed Church, Dumont on Tuesday March 1st at 10:30 AM. Interment Woodside Cemetery, Dumont. If desired, and in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Dementia Society of America www.dementiasociety.org.
