John J. Certa Jr.

John Joseph Certa Jr., unexpectedly passed away at the age of 65, on Saturday, May 15th, 2021. Devoted husband to Paula Certa (Toguville) and father of John David Certa,  John was born on April 16th, 1956 to Helen and the late John Certa Sr. His smile was infectious and his sense of humor was incredible. John was a supportive and loyal friend to many as he always made sure to make every experience a memorable one. John was co-owner of Certa-fied Pest Control with Peter Layne for 41 years. His passions included golfing, fishing, and being a 1975 Bergenfield Bears Football State Champion. John is survived by his loving mother, Helen, his sibling Steven and wife Paula, Joan and Ed, Elaine and Wayne, his beautiful nieces Bethany and Lora, his nephew Kevin, and his best friend Peter Layne. Always remember, there's no bug too big. Visiting Friday 4-7 PM at Riewerts Memorial Home, 187 So. Washington Ave. Bergenfield. All will gather at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church 29 N. Washington Ave, Bergenfield at 9:15 AM for the Funeral Mass at 9:30 AM. Cremation will be private. Memorial donations in Johns name may be made to the John Theurer Cancer Center at Hackensack University Medical Center
