On February 3, 2022, John Thomas Cirone of Bergenfield NJ passed away peacefully at home. John is survived by his wife of 60 years, Frances Knapp Cirone, his children Laura Tarabokija and Richard Cirone, son in law Anthony Tarabokija, grandchildren Brooke and Jaxson, and brother in law and sister in law James and Arlene Knapp, and many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his parents Josephine and Thomas Cirone, sister Grace Fuery, brother Frank Cirone, brother-in-laws Edward Fuery and Kenneth Knapp, and sister in laws Joan Cirone and Eleanor Knapp as well as many close friends.
John was born in Jersey City and is a graduate of Dickenson High School. He served in the army in Germany and was honorably discharged.
John loved to dance and met his wife at a dance in North Bergen and have been together for over 60 years. They married and lived briefly in West New York NJ. In 1972, they moved their family to Bergenfield where he was surrounded by many wonderful neighbors who became close friends. He had a long career as a salesman for Proctor & Gamble and was awarded numerous Outstanding Salesman and Safe Driving awards. We will miss his infamous ability to hold a conversation with anyone he met.
A funeral mass will be held at 11 am on Monday, 2/7/22 at St. Johns Evangelist Church in Bergenfield. He will be entombed at the Garden of Memories in Township of Washington.
At the family's request, a viewing will not be held. Therefore, in lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society or Alzheimer's Society.
