John J. McCarthy

McCarthy, John J., 70, of Bergenfield, passed away peacefully on May 8th surrounded by his loving family. John retired in 1998 from Hudson County News after 25 years of service. He was a parishioner of St. the Evangelist R.C. Church. John is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years Tillie(Lohmann) McCarthy. Born in Jersey City, October 3, 1936 son of the late Mary & John McCarthy. John is also survived by three daughters Susan ( Bill) Wiesing, Maureen (Tom) Nelson and Karen( Larry) Savitch, two grandchildren Ryan and Shane Nelson, two sisters Helen Maguire and Mary Tweedie, one brother Raymond. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. The funeral will leave Riewerts Memorial Home Inc. 187 So. Washington Ave. Bergenfield, NJ on Saturday at 9 AM for the Funeral Liturgy at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church, Bergenfield, NJ at 9:30 AM. Interment George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus, NJ. In lieu of flowers donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105-1942 would be appreciated. The family will receive friends Friday 2-4 and 7-9 PM.
