Joyce M. Carbone

Joyce M. Carbone, 83, was a longtime resident of Bergenfield, NJ. Joyce peacefully passed away on Monday, June 12, 2023 Joyce is survived by her two niece's Lynn Ciccia, her husband Paul and Janet Sandstrom, her two nephews Jeffrey Mischler and James Sandstrom. She is also survived by her beloved great niece and nephew Allisa & Paul Jr. Ciccia. Following high school, Joyce unselfishly gave herself to serve in the United States Army and was with them for three years. Upon her return from her service, Joyce worked for 25+ years at the Bell Atlantic Phone Company. At the end of her tenure, she took early retirement to partake in traveling the world, a fierce passion of hers. Along with traveling and learning about many cultures, Joyce was a vivacious reader of the newspaper and books. It would be rare sighting to see her at the Bergenfield Swim Club without some form of reading at her fingertips. Along with traveling and reading, Joyce loved to indulge in the fruits of life: going to the theater, watching movies, trips to the beach, visiting Atlantic City and with the company of her family and friends. In addition, she was a dedicated volunteer to CCD at St. John's the Evangelist and local hospitals. Her commitment to the greater good was portrayed through her devout passion and genuine love for helping the innocent, animals and children. Joyce will be missed by many and she may now rest in eternal peace. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation of your choice to an animal or children charity. Visiting Thursday 4-8 PM at Riewerts Memorial Home, 187 So. Washington Ave. Bergenfield. All will gather at the funeral home on Friday at 9 AM for the Funeral Mass at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church, Bergenfield at 10 AM. Cremation will be private.
