Kathleen Muller

Kathleen Mary Muller (née Carmody), brought into the world on January 3, 1944, and entered into eternal rest on November 23, 2023.  Kathy, born in Cambridge, MA to Daniel Bernard Carmody Jr. & Irene Carmody (née Murphy), moved to Bergenfield as a child when her father took a job in Manhattan.  Kathy stayed in Bergenfield the remainder of her life and spent summers in Newport, RI.  After attending St. John the Evangelist School, Holy Angels Academy, and Dominican College and earning a degree in education, Kathy devoted her life to educating children in Bergen County.  She taught second grade in the Norwood public schools for several years and then spent the remainder of her 40 year career devoted to fostering the love of education and faith to third graders at St. John the Evangelist.  Kathy was a devoted mother to her three sons, Louis Daniel, John Anthony, and Joseph Edward; a loving mother-in-law of Connie and Tatiana; and doting grandmother to Matthew and Grace.  She is predeceased by her brother Daniel Bernard Carmody III and survived by her former husband Louis Joseph Muller, Jr. and many beloved family members. Kathy’s patience, kindness and generosity were endless as is our love for her. We are gathering to honor her on Wednesday, Nov. 29, at 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at Riewerts funeral home, 187 S. Washington Ave. Bergenfield & on Thursday Nov. 30, at St. John the Evangelist Church in Bergenfield at 10 AM followed by burial at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Tenafly, NJ. Kathy wished that, in lieu of flowers, any donation in her memory be made to the Bergenfield Volunteer Ambulance Corps, 1 Froelich Street, Bergenfield NJ 07621.
