Thurber, M. Constance (Connie) (nee Luby) of Bergenfield, on December 31, 2007. Born in Framingham, MA, she was a Reference Librarian for the Bergenfield Public Library for 35 years, retiring in 1996. A graduate of Simmons College, Boston, MA, she was a member of the Simmons College Alumni Assoc and a parishioner of St. John the Evangelist Church. Daughter of the late Judge James E. and Frances Luby, she was predeceased by her brother, James W., sister Barbara Knowlton, and granddaughter Jane Thurber. She is survived by her beloved husband, Jack R.; her children, Michael of Melrose, MA, Paul of Glen Rock, NJ, John of La Grande, OR, Robert of New York, NY, Anne Gumbs of Perth Amboy, NJ and Mary of Franklin Lakes, NJ; her beloved sister, Miriam Crotty, of Swansea, MA; 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. The funeral will leave Riewerts Memorial Home, 187 So. Washington Ave. Bergenfield on Friday at 9:30AM for the Funeral Liturgy at St. John the Evangelist Church, Bergenfield at 10AM. Interment Maryrest Cemetery, Mahwah, NJ. The family will receive friends Thursday 2-4 & 7-9 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Friends of the Bergenfield Public Library or the Alzheimer's Assoc, 400 Morris Ave., Suite 251, Denville, NJ 07834.
