Margaret Gordon

Margaret Gordon(Nee Barchfeld) 97 died peacefully with Valley Hospice on September 21, 2016 at CareOne at Valley. Margaret was one of 4 children, her parents Clara and George predeceased her many years ago. Margaret lived in Bergenfield for over 60 years. She was predeceased by her husband Robert R of 55 years. Margaret was the mother of 2 children Nancy and her Husband Samuel Croot of Fredericksburg VA and Linda Christensen of Tenafly. Her two grandsons are Stephen of Charlotte, NC and Andrew and his wife Stacey of Centreville, VA. She was also blessed with her great grandson Nathan Croot as well as an aunt to many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Margaret was a girl scout leader for many years. She was a friend of the Church of the Good Shepherd in Bergenfield. Margaret was also a lifetime member of the Eastern Star Tilden Chapter #59. She was a friend of the Bergenfield Library. Her baking skills and caring nature will be remembered by so many. Visiting at Riewerts Memorial Home, 187 So. Washington Ave., Bergenfield on Saturday 4-7 PM. Funeral service at the funeral home on Saturday at 6:30 PM. Cremation will be private.
