Marie E. McKenna

McKenna, Marie E.(nee: Price) of Bergenfield passed away on January 20, 2017. She was the beloved and cherished wife of the late John J. McKenna, to whom she was married for forty-seven years. Marie was the loving mother of three children, John J. McKenna, Ellen M. Shave and Marie E. Harvey, as well as three children by marriage, Linda, the late Jack, and Blair. She was the dear sister of Harry, as well as the late John, James, and Joseph Price. Marie was the adored grandmother (otherwise known as 'Gram') of John, Brian, Michael, Matthew, Katherine, Christopher, Kathleen, John and Kevin, and great grandmother (otherwise known as 'Mema') of eight. Her family truly was her pride and joy. Her home was filled with photographs of all those she loved and she spent much of her time bragging about the accomplishments of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Even though she was quite the neatnik, Marie hosted parties and holidays, prepared elaborate meals, and all were always welcome in her home. She was an avid reader and shopper, fierce debater of politics, and dedicated parishioner of St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church, where she taught CCD and served as a Eucharistic Minister. Marie was also a member of the Rosary Society and the Golden Age Club. She will be missed dearly. Visiting Monday 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Riewerts Memorial Home, 187 So. Washington Ave. Bergenfield. All will gather at the funeral home on Tuesday at 9 AM for the Funeral Mass at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church, Bergenfield at 10 AM. Interment Madonna Cemetery, Ft. Lee.
