Marilyn E. Burkart of Bergenfield passed away on August 12, 2021. Loving sister of the late Willard (Bill) C. Burkart & sister in law of the late Anna (Hammet) Burkart. Dear aunt of Martha A. Richter (Richard), the late Wayne Burkart, and great aunt of Richard Richter IV (Amanda) and Susan E. Richter. Great- great aunt of Robert Richter & Jaydin Lisi. Also survived by many cousins. Marilyn lived her lifetime in Bergenfield. She attended the Englewood Hospital School of Nursing, and graduated in 1949. She went on to practice nursing (surgical nursing unit) in Englewood Hospital, and thereafter obtained her Bachelor's & Master's degrees from the Teacher's College of Columbia University in 1955. Followed by her position as Nurse Educator in Englewood Hospital School of Nursing, where she later became director of the school until 1963. She later joined the National League for Nursing for many years. She was a member of the Nursing Education Alumni Association, Englewood Hospital School of Nursing Alumni Association, a lifelong parishioner, Elder, and Deacon of Clinton Avenue Reformed Church in Bergenfield, and was a member of the Eastern Star. She thoroughly enjoyed traveling, cooking, and volunteering. Marilyn will be incredibly missed by many. Visiting at Riewerts Memorial Home, 187 So. Washington Ave., Bergenfield on Friday, August 20th 3-7PM. Funeral service at Clinton Avenue Reformed Church 58 James St. Bergenfield, on Saturday, August 21st at 10AM. Interment George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus.
