Mary Giambona

Mary Giambona, a long- time resident of Bergenfield, NJ passed away on December 5, 2022. Beloved wife of Antonino (Tony) Giambona and loving mother of Ann Sole (Gaetano Sole, deceased) Orazio Anthony Giambona (Mary McSherry Giambona), and Frances Talarico (Anthony Talarico). She was blessed with 8 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. They were her pride and joy.

At age 16 she worked as a dressmaker in a factory in Brooklyn, NY to help support the family. While raising her family, she attended beauty school and worked as a hair stylist for 60 years, even owning her own shop in Bergenfield for several years.  She earned her real estate license and enjoyed helping others attain their dream of homeownership.  

She was committed to her family, loved to cook, and entertained family and friends her whole life.  She was always impeccably dressed and loved to dance the jitterbug.

Visiting is Friday December 9 at Riewerts Memorial Home, 187 So. Washington Avenue, Bergenfield from 4 PM to 8PM. All will gather at church at 9:45 AM for the Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel R.C. Church, Tenafly at 10:00 AM. Interment will be at Maryrest Cemetery, Mahwah.
