HARTMANN, Mary Ellen (Sunshine) On 6 June 2012, Hartmann at 84 years old, sadly and joyfully past from this life into God's awaiting hands. At the time of her passing, she was living with her husband of 64 years; William Joseph Hartmann Sr. in Toms River, New Jersey. Bridgette Griffin gave birth to Mary Ellen Griffin on April 29th, 1928, in New York City and is the place where Mary or Sunshine, a name family and friends would give her, was raised, schooled and worked in the banking industry. On 1 May 1948, in the Notre Dame Church of New York, Mary and Bill were happily married. Moving to New Jersey in 1951, her dream life of being a loving wife and mother continued at 43 John Place, Bergenfield New Jersey. Mary dedicated her life to two activities; GOD and Family. Every day was a lesson in faith, taking care of each other and to treat all people as you would want to be treated. Her hobbies and interests were to love her husband, raise her children and ensure all relatives and friends were part of their home. One of her biggest joy's in life is when she prepared for holidays at 43 John Place, it took on the true meaning of family; it also took 2 stoves, two floors and several children's tables. Everyone would understand why she held the nickname Sunshine; Mary would light up any room with her smile and bring Joy to all that knew her. Her faith in GOD carried her through the good times and the tribulations of her time; raising eight children, caring for her children's spouses, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She lived her life with a commitment to be the best person she could be and IN GOD I TRUST. Bound by Love, Mary and Bill spent 64 years together, a marriage only separated today by the gift of God's calling. She has left this world for a better place, she leaves a family who will carry a piece of her soul within us to remember her by and the comfort of knowing Gods new Angel, is spreading a little "Sunshine" in all of our lives.
