Maude E. Cook

Maude Elaine Cook, nee Reynolds, 96, died December 4, 2013 in St. Anne's Hospital, Fall River, Massachusetts. She was the wife of the late Sanford Ephriam Cook, who died December 31, 1996. Born September 14, 1917 in Edgewater, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Frieda (Lewald) and Louis Reynolds. She resided in Bergenfield, NJ from 1954 until January, 2011 before moving to Tiverton, RI. Maude was employed for 10 years in the computer room of Parents Magazine, Bergenfield, NJ and earlier as a manager for a Cushman's Bakery. She had been an assistant leader of a Bergenfield, NJ, Girl Scout Troop, a member of the Undercliff Council of the Daughters of America in Edgewater, NJ, a member of the Tilden Chapter of the Eastern Star in Teaneck, NJ, and a member of several senior clubs in Bergenfield, NJ. Surviving are her children: Elaine (Cook) Sapp, wife of Frank Sapp, of Sicklerville, NJ and Sanford E. Cook III, husband of Joan Garvey Cook, of Tiverton, RI. There are four grandchildren: Jennifer (Deats) Weston, wife of Gregory Weston, of Avon, CT; Christine Marie Cook of Portsmouth, RI; Robin Elizabeth (Deats) Macauley, wife of John Macauley, of Haddon Township, NJ; and Jonathan Sanford Sapp, of Tinton Falls, NJ. There are also six great-grandchildren: Erin Tesla Weston, Elon Cook, John Andrew Macauley, Frank Ethan Cook, Logan Graham Macauley, and Chase Ryan Macauley. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at the Riewerts Memorial Home, 187 S. Washington Avenue, Bergenfield, NJ. Viewing will be held on Monday at the Funeral Home from 3-7 p.m. Interment will be in the George Washington Memorial Park, 234 Paramus Road, Paramus, NJ. Memorial contributions in memory of Mrs. Cook may be made to a veteran's organization of your choice.
