Norman A. Hoyt, Sr., born October 21, 1940, passed away Friday November 12, 2021 at the New Jersey Firemn's Home. He was welcomed into the afterlife by his beautiful wife Judy, (d.8/26/2021.) He is survived by his sons Norm, Jr (Tami) and Chris along with his grandchildren Ryan Zadrozna, Elizabeth Hoyt and honorary granddaughters Kitty Gettle and Emily Sandman.
Drafted into the US Navy in 1962, Norman served 4yrs and 4 months aboard the USS Albany. After he was honorably discharged, he became a plumber and worked for William Beck & Sons for close to 45 years. In 1972, he joined the Bergenfield Fire Department and volunteered out of Fire Company #2. He proudly served the borough for almost 49 years serving as Lieutenant, Captain, Deputy Chief and Chief of the Department in 2002. Norman also held numerous desk officer positions. He was a Life Member of Fire Company #2, the Bergenfield Fire Department, the NJ/NY Firemen's Association, the NJ State Fireman's Association and the NJ Exempts Association.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Fire Company #2, 8 Home Place, Bergenfield, NJ.

Visiting at Riewerts Memorial Home, 187 So. Washington Ave., Bergenfield on Tuesday November 16th 20212-4 & 7-9 PM. Funeral service at the funeral home on Wednesday November 17th 2021 at 10 AM. Interment George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus.
