Patrick T. Hayes

HAYES, Patrick T., 91, on July 21, 2011 of Bergenfield. Born in New York, NY, he was a Brakeman for Penn Central Railroad, New York, NY retiring in 1981. A Marine Corps. Veteran of WW II, he was affectionately known as "Captain" by everyone especially the Bergenfield High School sports programs and has the Captain Hayes Award for outstanding sportsmanship given to a qualified Bergenfield High School football player each year. He served on the Bergenfield Council from 1964-67 and was a member of the Bergenfield Golden Age Club. Devoted husband of the late Madeline T. Hayes. Beloved father of Thomas J., Terrence C. Hayes and the late Lynn Hayes Feola. Loving grandfather of Thomas Hayes, Tricia Aupperlee, Michael Hayes Feola, Joseph R. Feola, Jr., Patrick T., Katie Ann and Brendan J. Hayes and great grandfather of Morgan Lilly Hayes, Dean Aupperlee, Casey Hayes and Jordan Aupperle. All will meet at Riewerts Memorial Home, 187 So. Washington Ave. Bergenfield on Tuesday at 10AM for the Funeral Mass at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church, Bergenfield at 11AM. Cremation will be private. Visiting Monday 2-4 and 7-9 PM.
