Robert L. Fredricksen

Robert L. Fredricksen, 91, of Bergenfield died peacefully on January 18, 2013. Born in New York, NY, he retired as a Bank Manager for First National City Bank in New York in 1976 and later served as an Aide for the Bergen County Board of Freeholders for 8 years. A Staff Sergeant in the Army Air Corp. during WWII, he served as an Airplane Mechanic Instructor throughout the US and Caribbean. He had been accepted to serve as a B-29 Flight Engineer until the program was cancelled prior to the end of the war. He had also served as a Bergenfield Councilman in the 1970's. Devoted husband of the late Josephine S. Fredricksen. Beloved father of Janet and her husband Matt Franklin, William Fredricksen and the late Robert Fredricksen, Jr. Loving grandfather of Brian and Monica Franklin, Jason Fredricksen and Nessa Post and great grandfather of Gracie, Emilia, Brinn and Colin. Visiting at Riewerts Memorial Home, 187 So. Washington Ave., Bergenfield on Tuesday 6-9 PM. Funeral service at the funeral home on Wednesday at 10 AM followed by interment at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus.
