Rolando Quito Bautista, 79, of Bergenfield, NJ peacefully passed away surrounded by family on Sunday, February 26, 2023. Rolando was born on November 18, 1943 in the Philippines to the late Alfredo Bautista and Gloria Bautista. He graduated from Far Eastern University in Manila, Philippines with a bachelor’s degree in commerce. Shortly afterwards, in 1967 Rolando moved to the U.S. to live with his father also a proud Army Veteran.
Rolando received his draft letter to join the U.S. Army in 1968 and was sent to Vietnam. After his time in Vietnam, he married his childhood friend, Anita (Ducut) Bautista. He remained in the Army living abroad until his retirement in 1983. Along with his family, Rolando settled in Bergenfield, NJ to be close to his mother and siblings. Rolando found work with the U.S. Postal Service until his retirement.
He is survived by his devoted wife Anita (Ducut) Bautista, his son, Richard Bautista of Charleston, West Virginia and his wife Theresa Concepcion Bautista, granddaughter Sophia Bautista, and his daughter Michelle Bautista-Posluszny of Oradell,NJ and her husband Douglas Posluszny, granddaughter Mikaela, and grandsons Ryan and Andrew.
He was the beloved eldest brother to siblings, Ryan, the late Carolina Arenas, George, Emmanuel, Ferdinand and Alfredo, Jr.
He was an eternal patriot and proud veteran, an avid sports fan of the NJ Devils and the NY Giants. He enjoyed spending time with his family (especially his grandchildren and his brothers), his morning Dunkin Donuts coffee run, watching old western movies and working on his car while listening to his favorite music.
The family will receive their relatives and friends at Riewerts Memorial Home, 187 S Washington Ave., Bergenfield, NJ on Friday from 4-9 PM. The Funeral Mass celebrating Rolando’s life and faith will be held at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church in Bergenfield, NJ on Saturday at 10AM. Entombment will follow at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus, NJ. After the cemetery there will be a repast at Biaggio’s Restaurant in Paramus, NJ.
