Rolando Mendoza Pagcaliwagan died in his hometown of Bergenfield, NJ on the 12th of February 2024 at the age of 72 years. Rolando was predeceased by his father Diego Pagcaliwagan, mother Severina Mendoza, 2 brothers (Eddie and Jesse) and sister Luming. He is a long-time resident of Bergenfield, NJ and parishioner of St. Johns the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife of 43 years Isabelita and daughters Robellie Ann and Rachelle, son-in-law Omicel, 4 granddaughters (Sophia, Julianna, Isabella, & Gabriella), 2 siblings Linda and Tony, several nieces and nephews and several brother and sister in laws.
Rolando received his Bachelor’s Degree from San Pablo College in San Pablo, Philippines. He migrated to the United States in 1988 and worked tireless hours fulfilling the American Dream for his family. Rolando is a humble, selfless, patient, and kind-hearted son of God who would go to the ends of the Earth for his family and friends. He was the best “Tatay” to his 2 daughters and the best “Lolo” to his 4 granddaughters, whether its babysitting, dropping and picking them up from school, taking them to church and the mall, or making them the best chocolate milk. Rolando also enjoyed fishing, watching movies, spending time with friends, and taking walks with his wife. He went to church every Sunday and never missed a birthday, baptism, and 1stcommunion. He will be missed and may his soul now rest in peace.
