Stanley J. Buchanan

Stanley J. Buchanan, 80, on September 21, 2007 of Cresskill formerly of Bergenfield. Born in Bronx, NY, he was a Supervisor for Bell Telephone Co., Jersey City for 38 yrs. retiring in 1987. An Army veteran of WWII, he was a parishioner of St. John the Evangelist Church, a member for 60 yrs. and Past Commander of American Legion Post 78, Englewood, St. John's Council #1345 K of C, Dumont, St. John's Golden Age Club, the Bergenfield Mayor's Senior Advisory Committee and was Grand Marshall of the Englewood Memorial Day Parade in 1998. Beloved husband for 55 yrs. of Kathleen T. Buchanan (nee Davis). Devoted father of Ronald J. (and his wife Diane) of Dumont, Philip J. (and his wife Carol) of Fair Haven, NJ and Thomas S. Buchanan of Bergenfield. Dear sister of Marilyn Scully of Ridgefield Park and John R. Buchanan of Santa Cruz, CA. Loving grandfather of Danielle, Michelle and Melanie Buchanan. The funeral will leave Riewerts Memorial Home, 187 So. Washington Ave. Bergenfield on Tuesday at 9:30AM for the Funeral Liturgy at St. John the Evangelist Church, Bergenfield. at 10AM. Interment Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Tenafly. The family will receive friends Monday 2-4 & 7-9 PM.
