Theodore M. Gutwerk

Theodore M. (Marty) Gutwerk, 87, on April 19, 2010 of Cresskill. Born in West Hoboken, he was a Lieutenant for the Bergenfield Police Dept. retiring in 1981. A Coast Guard Veteran of WWII serving in the Pacific Theatre, he was a member and Past President of the Bergenfield Lions Club, member and Past President of P.B.A. Local #83 and a member of St. Therese of Lisieux Council #7647, Cresskill. Beloved husband of the late Pauline. Devoted father of Susan E. Flannery of Oradell, Joanne M. Turner of Cresskill and John M. Gutwerk of Sparta. Dear brother of Marie Downs. Loving grandfather of Thomas Flannery, Jr., Jeffrey and John Gutwerk, Steven Turner, Jr., Julie Schlereth and Brian Turner and great grandfather of Jaclyn, Tyler, Ava and Ella Flannery, Madeline Schlereth, Ava and Shane Gutwerk. All will gather at Riewerts Memorial Home, 187 So. Washington Ave. Bergenfield on Friday at 9AM for the Funeral Mass at St. Therese R.C. Church, Cresskill at 10AM. Interment Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Tenafly. Visiting Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bergenfield Lions Club, PO Box 128, Bergenfield, NJ 07621.
