McCABE, Thomas P. "OUR PAL" passed away November 17, 2008. Born in Bogota 75 years ago, Tom was a distinguished Attorney and Builder in Dumont and Bergenfield until retiring 4 years ago. He graduated from Fordham Law School, was a member of The National Guard and served as a Municipal Court Judge in Norwood. His passion was investing in real estate and operating restaurants throughout his career including The Savory Inn in River Vale, The 76 House in Tappan, NY, The Hungry Peddler in Cresskill and Kubel's on Long Beach Island. He was surrounded by the love of his life, Diane, and the entire Cristofoletti Family, who mourns his loss. He was predeceased by his brothers, Jim and Peter; sisters, Julia, Catherine and Ann; and his parents, Margaret and Peter. After a long courtship, Tom married Diane (Cristofoletti) and enjoyed thirty seven years together, traveling to Europe and throughout the U.S. He loved going to LBI where he and his wife welcomed family and friends. Fall was a special season when he could root for his favorite football teams, Notre Dame and The Giants. We were lucky to have known him for his wisdom, kindness and gentleness. Tom will always be remembered by his mischievous smile, generous nature and quiet humility. So here's a toast to you Tom: "May the roads rise to meet you, May the winds be always at your back, May the sun shine warm upon your face. The rains fall soft upon your fields. And until we meet again May God hold you in the hollow of his hand". The funeral will leave Riewerts Memorial Home, 187 So.
