Victor J. Montesano, 77, of Toano, VA passed away on April 25, 2007. He was born and raised in Paterson, NJ and then resided in Bergenfield, NJ for 32 years and Williamsburg and Toano, VA for the last 18 years. Vic attended Trenton State College and then served in the US Navy as a meteorologist. He then finished his college education at William Paterson University while working and raising a family. He graduated with both a bachelor's degree and master's degree in education and administration. He started his career in education with the Bergenfield School district in 1956. He continued his career for the next 29 years in Bergenfield as a teacher, principal and administrator before retiring in 1985. Vic was best known to all for his humanistic approach to students and fellow educators. At different times throughout his career he coached soccer, basketball and football for the students of Bergenfield, was a member of the local Lions Club and after retirement served as a member of the Bergenfield Board of Education. He is predeceased by his wife Marlene (nee LaGruth) of 32 years, his brother Rocco Montesano and his sister Marie Sorrentino. He is survived by his beloved wife Carol (nee Edele) of 23 years. Loving father of 6 children: Cathy Kut and her husband Andre of Andover, NJ, Vicky Rispoli and her husband Jim of Vernon, CT, Mariann Goodell and her husband Bill of Bergenfield, NJ, Carl Montesano and his wife Julie of Bethlehem, PA, Paul Montesano and his wife Connie of Fountain Valley, CA and Michael Montesano and his wife Jennifer of Bethlehem, PA. Loving grandfather of 12: Kristopher Kut and his wife Holly, Eric Kut, Alex Kut, Mathew Rispoli, Marlene Rispoli, Joey Rispoli, Bobby Groezinger, Nick Montesano, Michelle Montesano, Dominic Montesano, Gianna Montesano and Nicole Montesano. Also 2 great grandchildren: AJ Kut and Preston Kut and many nieces and nephews. Vic loved life and enjoyed spending his time cooking and traveling. He will be greatly missed by his wife Carol and his children and grandchildren. Dad, we all know you did it "Your Way". There was a Funeral service at Riewerts Memorial Home Inc., 187 So. Washington Ave., Bergenfield, NJ on Tuesday followed by interment St. Joseph's Cemetery, Hackensack, NJ.
