William M. McGowan , 87, on September 25, 2007 of Garfield. Born in County Leitrim, Ireland, he was a Frameman for NY Telephone Co., New York City retiring in 1981 and was a lifetime member of the Telephone Pioneers of America, New York, NY. Beloved husband of Mary McGowan (nee Mulligan). Devoted father of Mary Schmitt (and her husband Robert), Eileen Stetter (and her husband William), Bonnie O'Rourke (and her husband Frank), John M. (and his wife Nancy) and Philip McGowan. Dear brother of Philomena and Christine McGowan, Vera Peck, Patricia Schank, Aileen Roycroft, the late May Foley and the late Lawrence McGowan. Loving grandfather of Michael, Janine, Patrick, Caitlin, Tara, Matthew, Aiden, Colin, Lisa, Liam, Francis, Brian and Philip. Family and friends will meet at Most Holy name R.C. Church, 99 Marcellis Pl., Garfield on Saturday for the Funeral Liturgy at 10AM. Interment Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Tenafly. The family will receive friends on Friday 2-4 & 7-9PM at Riewerts Memorial Home, 187 So. Washington Ave., Bergenfield.
